Integrated Energy Therapy (IET): Energy Clearing and Emotional Balance
Integrated Energy Therapy, commonly known as IET, is a gentle energy-healing practice intended to support emotional awareness, relaxation and a renewed sense of inner balance.
Within energy-healing traditions, experiences and emotions may sometimes feel as though they remain present in the body or energetic field. We may notice this as heaviness, tension, guardedness or a feeling of being disconnected from ourselves.
IET offers a compassionate space in which to slow down, receive supportive energy and reconnect with a greater sense of ease.
Integrated Energy Therapy was developed by Stevan J. Thayer through the Center of Being. The practice works with specific areas of the body known within the IET system as integration points.
During a session, the practitioner uses gentle touch or places their hands slightly above the body while working with these points and the surrounding energy field. Within the spiritual framework of IET, this process is intended to support the release and integration of limiting emotional and energetic patterns.
IET is sometimes described as working with angelic energy. You do not need to follow a particular religion or hold any specific spiritual belief to receive a session.
You remain fully clothed and rest comfortably on a treatment table. Before beginning, we discuss your preferences regarding touch, the areas you would like supported and any areas you do not want touched.
Space to notice emotions, sensations or imagery without judgment
Your comfort and consent remain central throughout the experience. You may request hands-off work, change your preferences or stop the session at any time.
IET does not require you to explain everything you have experienced or consciously revisit painful memories. The intention is to create a calm and supportive environment in which you can be present with yourself at a manageable pace.
People sometimes experience emotions through sensations in the body. Grief may feel like heaviness in the chest. Anxiety may be noticed in the stomach. Responsibility can feel like weight across the shoulders.
These associations are personal and should not be interpreted as diagnoses. During an IET session, we approach whatever you notice with curiosity and compassion rather than assuming that a particular sensation has one universal meaning.
There is no response you are required to have. Some people notice warmth, tingling, emotion, imagery or a feeling of energy moving. Others experience quiet relaxation or simply enjoy resting. A subtle session can be just as meaningful as one that feels more active.
In many spiritual traditions, the field surrounding the physical body is called the aura or energy body. It is understood as interacting with our emotions, relationships and environments.
IET approaches this field through a spiritual and experiential framework. The practitioner may work both close to and above the physical body with the intention of encouraging greater energetic flow and balance.
Clients may leave a session feeling calmer, clearer, more grounded or more connected with themselves. Experiences and outcomes vary, and no particular emotional or physical result can be guaranteed.
